This manual guides project managers (PMs) through the core workflow of building a WBS in wbsgantt and managing schedules and dependencies with the Gantt chart.

Workflow at a Glance

  1. Create a project → 2. Build the WBS tree → 3. Set schedules & dependencies in the Gantt → 4. Enter progress / review the schedule → 5. Export to Excel

Each step is explained in detail in the following sections.

1. Project Overview

This is the first screen you see when you open a project; it gives an at-a-glance view of progress.

Use Overview and WBS / Gantt in the left sidebar to switch between the two screens. You can collapse the sidebar into an icon rail (compact mode) with the collapse button at the bottom; when collapsed, hovering over an icon reveals the menu as a flyout.

2. Building the WBS

A WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) is a tree that breaks the project scope down into work. All schedules and progress in wbsgantt are calculated from this tree.
